It is with great joy that I get to send you reminders for our 10th anniversary celebrations this coming Sunday!
In Sunday School, Tarence Dickerson, one of our elder candidates will be teaching. He will share how he came to Christ, how we came to the Reformed faith, and a short devotional. We have childrens’ classes ages 3-7 and 8-14, as well as nursery during Sunday school. All classes will start at 9:45. Please join us if you are able!
The morning sermon will be on Hebrews 12:1-11 “Assured by the Father.” Rev. Burk Parsons from St. Andrews Chapel in Sanford will be preaching. Burk is also the editor of Table Talk magazine and a teaching fellow for Ligonier Ministries. He is a good friend of mine and I am delighted to have him and his family up for our 10th anniversary.
Burk will also be preaching in our evening service on Acts 2:41-47 “The Ordinary Church.” This will focus on being a reformed church in the 21st century. Should be great! We are planning to have the Lord’s Supper in the evening service (other aspects of the service will be shortened for time’s sake). Please prayerfully prepare your hearts for the ministry of God’s word and sacrament.
Lastly, following our evening service (which starts at 5 pm and ends at 6:15), we will enjoy a pot luck dinner together. Please bring a little more than usual as we are expecting a number of first time guests whom we don’t want to send away hungry! Please bring a main dish, side dish or dessert along with your own serving utensils. Drinks will be provided—and I’ve been told there may be a pork butt or two there!
We have so much for which to be thankful to our God. I am eagerly looking forward to celebrating with our church family. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
